In March 2018, volume turnover in retail trade up after three consecutive monthly declines
Volume turnover in retail trade in March 2018 increased by 0.5% over the previous month and decreased by 0.5% over March 2017.
Retail trade turnover higher at the monthly and lower at the annual level
After three consecutive monthly declines, in March 2018 volume turnover in retail trade increased on a monthly basis by 0.5%. The increase was due to a higher volume turnover in specialized stores with motor fuels (by 4.0%), as the turnover without retail trade of motor fuel decreased by 1.3% over the previous month. Compared to February 2018 the sale of food decreased by 0.4% and of non-food products by 1.4%.
Compared to March 2017 volume turnover in retail trade decreased by 0.5%. At the annual level volume turnover in specialized stores with motor fuels increased by 3.5%, while in retail trade except automotive fuel it decreased by 3.6%. The sale of food decreased by 4.2% and of non-food products by 3.7%.
In the first three months of this year, volume turnover in retail trade decreased by 0.8% compared to the same period of the previous year. The decline was influenced by lower turnover in specialized stores with automotive fuel (by 1.7%) and in retail trade with food (by 4.7%). Compared to the same period of the previous year volume turnover in retail trade with non-food products increased by 1.4%.
Turnover in trade and repair of motor vehicles lower at the monthly and higher at the annual level
At the monthly level the volume turnover in trade and repair of motor vehicles in March 2018 decreased by 1.1%. At the annual level it increased by 11.0% and in the first three months of 2018 compared to the same period in the previous year by 13.5%.
