Average earnings for March 2018 higher than earnings for February 2018
Average gross earnings for March 2018 amounted to EUR 1,670.69. Compared to gross earnings for February 2018 they were higher in nominal terms by 2.0% and in real terms by 1.7%. Average net earnings for March 2018 amounted to EUR 1,083.00 and were higher than net earnings for February 2018 in nominal terms by 1.6% and in real terms by 1.3%.

Compared to earnings for the same period of 2017, average monthly gross earnings for the January–March 2018 period were higher in nominal terms by 3.6% and in real terms by 2.3%.

Compared to earnings for February 2018, average gross earnings for March 2018 were higher in the private sector by 2.1% and in the public sector by 2.0% (in institutional sector general government they were about the same as earnings for February 2018).

Compared to earnings for February 2018, average gross earnings for March 2018 increased in all activities except in public administration and defence, compulsory social security (where they were lower by 0.2%) and in arts, entertainment and recreation (where they were lower by 0.3%). Average gross earnings for March 2018 were the highest in financial and insurance activities (EUR 2,760.43).

Compared to earnings for the same period of 2017, average monthly gross earnings for the January–March 2018 period increased the most in mining and quarrying (by 12.6%).
