Industrial production, turnover in industry and the value of stocks higher in May 2018
In May 2018 industrial activity, turnover in industry and the value of stocks increased at the monthly and annual level.
The value of industrial production in May 2018 higher at the monthly and annual level
Industrial activity in May 2018 increased by 0.7% compared to April 2018 and by 6.0% compared to May 2017. At the monthly level industrial activity in manufacturing increased (by 0.9%), while in mining and quarrying and in electricity, gas and steam supply it decreased (by 1.5% and by 1.8%, respectively).
In May 2018 the value of industrial production was 22.3% higher than the average of 2015. As regards technological complexity in manufacturing, the largest long-term increase was recorded in medium-low-technology manufacturing (by 30.1%).
Turnover in industry in May 2018 higher at the monthly and annual level
In May 2018 turnover was higher by 1.0% at the monthly level and by 7.5% at the annual level.
As regards main industrial groupings, turnovers at the annual level increased in intermediate goods industries as well as in capital goods industries and consumer goods industries. At the annual level the largest turnover increase was recorded in capital goods industries (by 15.2%).
The value of stocks of industrial products in May 2018 also higher at the monthly and annual level
In May 2018 the value of stocks of finished and unfinished production increased by 8.1% at the annual level; in this period it increased in manufacturing (by 8.2%).
At the monthly level the value of stocks of industrial products increased by 0.5% and by 21.3% compared to the 2015 average.
