Almost 2.5 million tourist overnight stays in July 2018

More than 825,000 tourist arrivals and almost 2.5 million tourist overnight stays were recorded in July 2018. Foreign tourists generated more than 77% of all tourist overnight stays, of which the most tourists from Germany.

Foreign tourists generated more than 1.9 million overnight stays
More than 825,000 tourist arrivals and almost 2.5 million tourist overnight stays were recorded in Slovenia in July 2018. Foreign tourists generated almost 678,000 arrivals and more than 1.9 million overnight stays. Domestic tourists generated almost 148,000 arrivals and more than 566,000 overnight stays. Foreign tourists generated more than 77% of all overnight stays in July.

Tourists from Germany generated the most overnight stays
Key markets, from which the most foreign tourists who generated the most overnight stays in Slovenia came, were Germany (13% or more than 251,000), the Netherlands (10%), Belgium (7%), the Czech Republic (7%), Italy (6%) and Austria (6%).

In July most tourists stayed in hotels and in campsites
More than 923,000 or 37% of all overnight stays were made in hotels, 21% in campsites, 18% in apartments and holiday villages, 6% in private accommodations – rented rooms, dwellings, and 5% in youth hostels.

Mountain resorts were the most visited
The highest number of tourist overnight stays in July 2018 (35% or almost 868,000) was recorded in mountain resorts, followed by seaside resorts (23%), health (spa) resorts (16%), and municipality Ljubljana (13%).
