Agricultural input prices up again
Agricultural input prices continued to grow in February. At both the monthly and annual levels, fertiliser prices increased the most.
Prices slightly higher at the monthly level …
Agricultural inputs were on average 0.6% more expensive than in the previous month. The prices of goods and services currently consumed in agriculture (input 1) went up by 1.0%, while the prices of goods and services contributing to agricultural investment (input 2) slightly decreased (by 0.1%).
In the first group (input 1), the highest price increases were recorded at fertilisers (by 4.3%) and the lowest at other goods and services (by 0.4%).
In the second group (input 2), the prices of materials remained the same as in the previous month, while the prices of buildings decreased by 0.3%.
… as well as the annual level
Compared to the same month of the previous year, agricultural inputs were 2.9% more expensive. The prices of goods and services currently consumed in agriculture went up by 3.2% and the prices of goods and services contributing to agricultural investment by 2.3%.
Year-on-year, too, the prices of fertilisers increased the most (by 7.6%), followed by the prices of energy and lubricants (higher by 7.4%) and of seeds of crops (by 6.1%).
