The highest recorded number of persons in employment
The number of persons in employment increased by nearly 900 in November. The number of women in employment increased the most, mainly in human health and social work activities and in education. In manufacturing, the number of persons in employment decreased both monthly and year-on-year.

A more pronounced growth in the number of women in employment
In November, there were just over 938,400 persons in employment in Slovenia, which is the highest number since we started monitoring register-based data on employment. Compared to the previous month, there were almost 900 or 0.1% more persons in employment. The highest value was reached by both the number of employees and self-employed. There were about 836,700 of the former, which is 0.1% more, and about 101,700 of the latter, which is 0.2% more.
The number of men in employment was about 515,900 or about 40 persons more than in October, while the number of women in employment was just over 422,500 or about 800 more (the two largest increases were recorded in human health and social work activities and in education).
Compared to November 2022, the number of persons in employment increased by 0.8%. The number of employees went up by 0.6% and the number of self-employed by 2.5%. There was an increase in the number of men as well as women; the former by 0.6% and the latter by 1.0%.
Growth in most sections of activity
The number of persons in employment increased on a monthly basis in 12 and decreased in 8 sections of activity. The largest growth was recorded in human health and social work activities and in education. In human health and social work activities, the number of persons in employment went up by about 400 (or 0.6%), of whom more than three quarters were women. In education, the number went up by just under 400 (or 0.5%), of whom 89.5% were women.
On the other hand, the number of persons in employment decreased the most in manufacturing, i.e. by around 400 persons or by 0.2%, followed by accommodation and food service activities with a monthly decrease of just over 100 persons or 0.3%.
Compared to November 2022, the number of persons in employment in human health and social work activities increased by 2.3% and in education by 2.0%.
At the annual level, the number of persons in employment in manufacturing decreased by 0.8%, while in accommodation and food service activities it increased by 1.3%.
