Average earnings lower than earnings for the previous month
Compared to earnings for January 2024, average gross earnings were lower in nominal terms by 1.7% and in real terms by 2.5%.

Average gross earnings for February 2024 amounted to EUR 2,279.52. Compared to earnings for the previous month, they went down in nominal terms by 1.7% and in real terms by 2.5%.
Average net earnings amounted to EUR 1,449.19. Compared to earnings for January 2024, they went down in nominal terms by 1.9% and in real terms by 2.7%.
Compared to earnings for February of the previous year, they were higher in nominal (gross earnings by 6.9% and net earnings by 4.1%) and in real terms (gross earnings by 3.4% and net earnings by 0.7%).
Earnings down in the public and in the private sector
Compared to earnings for the previous month, average gross earnings decreased in the public sector by 3.2% (in the institutional sector general government, they went down by 3.0%) and in the private sector by 0.8%.
The highest in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply and in financial and insurance activities
Average gross earnings were the highest in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (EUR 3,191.55) and in financial and insurance activities (EUR 3,191.12) and the lowest in accommodation and food service activities (EUR 1,655.59).
Compared to earnings for January 2024, average gross earnings went up the most in mining and quarrying (by 3.1%) and down the most in professional, scientific and technical activities (by 5.1%).
