Fuel consumption in forestry enterprises in 2017 about 6% lower than in the previous year
In total about 6.2 million litres of fuel (gasoline and diesel) was consumed in forestry enterprises in 2017, or about 6% less than in the previous year.
In 2017 slightly less fuel consumed in forestry enterprises than in the previous year
The total fuel consumption for forestry activity in forestry enterprises in 2017 was about 6.2 million litres (gasoline and diesel), or about 6% less than in the previous year. Of this, the share of fuel consumption for felling, harvesting and production of forest wood categories was about 43% (2.6 million litres). In total fuel consumption the share of fuel used for timber transport by roads was the largest, about 45%. A smaller share of consumed fuel was used for the cultivation of forests, for the construction and maintenance of forest roads, and for transport by car for production needs.
The total number of forestry machinery and equipment in forestry enterprises in 2017 slightly lower
According to the survey on forestry activity, in 2017 the forestry enterprises used 528 forestry tractors adapted to work in the forest, of which the share of wheeled tractors was the highest (about 65%). The number of trucks (trucks with forestry upgrade and loading equipment, trucks for hauling and dump trucks) decreased, and the number of other machinery and equipment also slightly decreased over the previous year.
