Volume turnover in retail trade in December 2020 higher than in November
In December 2020, volume turnover in retail trade was 0.1% higher than in November 2020 and 13.3% lower than in December 2019.
Retail trade turnover in December 2020 higher at the monthly level but still lower at the annual level
In December 2020, volume turnover in retail trade increased by 0.1% compared to November 2020. This was the first increase in retail trade turnover after four consecutive drops. Compared to the previous month, turnover in retail trade in specialized stores except motor fuels increased by 0.8% and in retail trade with automotive fuel by 0.5%. Turnover increased by 0.2% in retail trade with non-food and by 0.3% in retail trade with food products.
Compared to December 2019, volume turnover in retail trade decreased by 13.3%. The decrease at the annual level was again due to lower turnover in specialized stores with automotive fuel (by 23.5%). Turnover in retail trade except automotive fuel decreased by 8.6%, in retail trade with non-food products it went down by 16.1%, while in retail trade with food products it went up by 1.4%.
In 2020, volume turnover in retail trade decreased by 9.7% compared to the previous year. In this period, it fell the most in specialized stores with automotive fuel (by 23.6%).
Turnover from the sale of motor vehicles lower at the monthly and the annual level
In December 2020, volume turnover in trade and repair of motor vehicles decreased by 6.2% at the monthly level and by 29.2% at the annual level.
