In February 2021, 42% fewer building permits issued in Slovenia; the floor area 38% smaller than in January

In February 2021, 40% fewer building permits were issued for residential and 43% fewer for non-residential buildings than in January 2021. With the issued building permits 188 dwellings were planned, which is 43% fewer than in January.

Floor area of planned buildings smaller than in January

The total floor area of ​​all planned buildings in February was 110,757 m2, which is 38% less than the floor area of ​​all buildings planned by building permits in January 2021. The floor area for residential buildings was 24% smaller and for non-residential buildings 49% smaller.

98% of all building permits were issued for new constructions and 2% for conversions. In comparison with January 2021, the number of building permits for new constructions decreased by 42% and the planned floor area by 38%. In comparison with February 2020, the number of building permits for new constructions increased by 2% and the planned floor area by 15%.

Fewer dwellings planned than in January 

By issuing final building permits, in February 2021 construction of 188 dwellings was planned, which is 43% fewer than in January 2021. In one-dwelling buildings 150 dwellings were planned, which is 40% fewer than in the previous month. In two- and more dwelling buildings 37 dwellings were planned, which is 53% fewer than in January. One dwelling was planned in a non-residential building.

By issuing building permits in February 2021, 41% fewer new dwellings were planned than in January 2021 and the planned floor area of the dwellings decreased by 38%. In comparison with February 2020, 12% fewer new dwellings were planned and the floor area decreased by 2%.

Most dwellings to be built in the Osrednjeslovenska statistical region

In February 2021, most dwellings were planned in the Osrednjeslovenska statistical region, 36 dwellings or 19% of all. Osrednjeslovenska is followed by Gorenjska (28 dwellings or 15% of all), and by Podravska and Savinjska (in each 27 dwellings or 14% of all). In other statistical regions fewer dwellings were planned, the fewest in the Goriška statistical region, where two dwellings were planned. In the Zasavska statistical region no dwellings were planned.
