ECONOMIC CLASSIFICATION
The Standard Classification of Activities (SKD) is the obligatory national standard used for defining the main activity and for classifying business entities and their units for the needs of official and other administrative data collections (registers, records, databases, etc.) and for the needs of national and international statistics and analyses.
Since 1 January 2025, SKD 2025 has been in use, based on the European statistical classification of economic activities, NACE Rev. 2.1, which was adopted by Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2023/137 and replaced the current NACE Rev. 2 as of 1 January 2025. More details about the revised version of NACE Rev. 2.1 are available on Eurostat's website.
SKD 2025, which replaced the current SKD 2008, was adopted by the Regulation on the Standard Classification of Activities (Official Journal of the Republic of Slovenia, No. 27/2024 of 29 March 2024, page 2153).
A summary of the most important differences is available in the document "Differences between SKD 2008 and SKD 2025" (in Slovenian only).
Both versions of SKD and the converter between them are available in the Klasje system: SKD 2008, SKD 2025, SKD 2008 to SKD 2025 (in Slovenian only) and SKD 2025 to SKD 2008 (in Slovenian only).
First version of detailed explanatory notes to SKD 2025 (only in Slovenian) is available. Explanatory notes of SKD 2025 are no longer part of the new regulation and will be further updated based on changes to the NACE Rev. 2.1 explanatory notes and/or other changes.
More information about the SKD change is presented in the publication Revision of the European classification of economic activities NACE and of the national version SKD, With the new year, a change in the Standard Classification of Activities (SKD) and A new version of the Standard Classification of Activities came into force.
During the transition, data in statistical surveys will still be collected, processed and published according to SKD 2008. Transition periods for individual surveys will vary, while full transition is expected to be completed by 2029. SKD 2008 is available on the website of the Statistical Office of the Republic of Slovenia: https:\\www.stat.si\SKD-2008.
A first draft of planned transitions to SKD 2025 in particular statistical surveys (only in Slovenian) is available and will be further updated.

The Nomenclature of Industrial Products (NIP) classifies products which according to the Standard Classification of Activities (SKD) fall within the sections Mining and quarrying and Manufacturing. NIP is the basis for statistical monitoring of industrial production by products. The basis for NIP is the Classification of Products by Activity (CPA), which classifies all products and services by activity in which these products and services are produced, and is a mandatory standard in EU statistics. The Statistical Office of the European Union (Eurostat) has prepared for the purpose of monitoring industrial production in the EU Member States an even more detailed breakdown of products (within the sections Mining and quarrying and Manufacturing); the list's name is »PRODCOM-List«. The Slovene version of the PRODCOM List is named the Nomenclature of Industrial Products; we added the ninth digit to the 8-digit code from the PRODCOM list, which enables us more detailed national division, if this is necessary because of specialties of Slovenian industry. PRODCOM, which is the basis for NIP, is subjected to annual adjustments to changes in the CN (Combined Nomenclature) dictated by the needs of European and global trade policy.

The Combined Nomenclature (KN) is a nomenclature of goods that is used in customs procedures and external trade statistics. In external trade statistics it is used to monitor and display exports and imports at the detailed product level code. In customs procedures it is designed to meet the needs of the Common customs tariff, setting import duties for products imported into the European Union (EU), as well as the Integrated Tariff of the European Communities (Taric), incorporating all EU and trade measures applied to goods imported into and exported out of the EU. The nomenclature is changed every year. The nomenclature that will come into force in the beginning of the following year is published annually in the Official Journal of the European Union, by the end of October at the latest. The administrator of the CN is the European Commission; in Slovenia the Ministry of Finance and the Financial Administration of the Republic of Slovenia.

SOCIAL CLASSIFICATION
The Classification System of Education and Training (KLASIUS) is the obligatory national standard used for classifying educational activities and qualifications in the official and other administrative records, in statistical surveys and in statistical registers. The main purpose of KLASIUS is to ensure the consistency of data, especially in monitoring the participation in education and training and in the dissemination of educational and qualification structure of the population.
KLASIUS consists of two classifications: KLASIUS-SRV for classifying educational activities and qualifications regarding segments, levels and types and KLASIUS-P-16 for classifying educational activities and qualifications regarding fields of education and training. KLASIUS-SRV takes into account the concept of the International Standard Classification of Education ISCED 1997 and ISCED 2011, but is not directly comparable. In KLASIUS-P-16 the concept and structure with the set of categories follow the new International Standard Classification of Education – Fields of Education and Training 2013 (ISCED-F 2013).
KLASIUS was first introduced by the 2016 Decree on the Introduction and Use of Classification System of Education and Training. With the Decree Amending the Decree on the Introduction and Use of Classification System of Education and Training (Official Journal of the Republic of Slovenia, No. 8/2017) KLASIUS-P, which was based on ISCED 1997 fields of education, was replaced by KLASIUS-P-16, while KLASIUS-SRV was preserved. The decree will start to be used on 1 January 2018.

TERRITORIAL CODE LISTS
NUTS is the abbreviation for the classification of territorial units for statistics in the European Union called the Nomenclature of Territorial Units for Statistics. The nomenclature provides a comprehensive territorial division of countries for the purpose of ensuring regional statistics in the European Union. The SKTE is an abbreviation for the Standard Classification of Territorial Units. The Regulation on the Standard Classification of Territorial Units for Statistics regulates the division of the territory of the Republic of Slovenia at levels lower than NUTS 3. All spatial units from the Regulation are in the Register of Spatial Units kept by the Surveying and Mapping Authority of the Republic of Slovenia.

Territorial typologies define different types of urban and rural areas. These areas are classified according to the population size and density in grid cells and are applied to the territorial level of statistical regions and municipalities. When analysing statistical data by different types of areas, statistical regions and municipalities may be combined and disseminated at higher geographical levels. Urban and rural areas are defined on the basis of a common methodology (revised in 2011) prepared by the Commission Directorates General REGIO (Regional Statistics) and AGRI (Agriculture), Eurostat and the Joint Research Centre (JRC) in cooperation with the OECD.

Classification of Types of Construction (CC-SI) is used for recording, collecting, processing, analysing, transmitting and disseminating data on construction works for statistical and record-keeping purposes, for the needs of various official and other administrative data. The legal basis for the classification is the Decree on the Classification of Structures, which was adopted on the basis of Building Act.
The objects are classified according to the purpose of their use in sections 1 – Buldings and 2 - Civil engineering works. Classification is based on the EU Classification of Types of Construction (CC).
