Monthly number of registrations and bankruptcies up
More registrations and bankruptcies took place at the monthly level, but fewer at the quarterly level. In the first three months of 2022, the number of bankruptcies went up the most in information and communication, and in construction, and the number of registrations in construction.
The number of registrations slightly higher at the monthly level, but lower at the quarterly level
In March, the number increased at all levels: compared to February by 3.2%, compared to March 2021 by 23.8% and compared to the 2015 average by 12.9%.
In the 1st quarter of 2022, the number of registrations was lower than in the previous quarter in all activities except in construction, where it was 6% higher. It decreased the most in transportation and storage (by 8.2%), followed by acccommodation and food service activities (by 7.3%) and education, health, social work, arts and other service activities (by 7.1%).
Compared to the same quarter of 2021, the number was higher in all activities except in wholesale and retail trade, repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles, where it decreased by 17.8%. The number increased the most in accommodation and food service activities (by 124.6%).
For the past four quarters the number of registrations was also above the average of 2015.
The number of bankruptcies monthly higher and quarterly lower
Bankruptcy data for March also increased at all levels: compared to February by 59.7%, compared to March 2021 by 15.5% and compared to the 2015 average by 10.8%.
In the 1st quarter of 2022, the number of bankruptcies was lower at all levels. Quarterly, the number decreased significantly in industry (by 30.3%) and increased in information and comunication (by 20%) and construction (by 12.8%).
Compared to the same quarter of 2021, the increase was the largest in transportations and storage (by 150%) and education, health, social work, arts and other service activities (by 85.7%).
Compared to the 2015 average, the number in the last five quarters was below the average of that year and in the 1st quarter of 2022 it was by 9.5% lower.
