Turnover in retail trade, June 2023
Retail trade turnover continues to decline
Volume turnover in retail trade declined in June 2023 for the third time in a row at both the monthly and the annual level. In trade and repair of motor vehicles, it grew in both comparisons.
Again lower at the monthly and the annual level
Volume turnover in retail trade at the monthly level declined for the third time in a row, this time by 2.6%. In retail trade with automotive fuel, it declined by 5.0% and in retail trade with food products by 2.4%. In retail trade with non-food products it remained at the May’s level.
At the annual level, volume turnover declined by 15.7%. It was mostly a consequence of the lower turnover in retail trade with automotive fuel (by 30.9%), since in retail trade without automotive fuel it declined by 4.7%. In retail trade with non-food products it declined by 5.4% and in retail trade with food products by 3.7%.
In the first half of the year, turnover declined by 6.6% compared to the same period of the previous year. In retail trade with automotive fuel it declined by 9.5%, in retail trade with non-food products by 4.9% and in retail trade with food products by 4.8%.

Volume turnover from trade and repair of motor vehicles grew by 2.7% at the monthly and by 19.1% at the annual level. In the first half of the year, compared to the same period of last year, it grew as well, namely by 15.2%.
