The value of industrial production lower at the monthly level
Compared to July, the total value of industrial production and the total value of stocks in industry were lower, while the total turnover in industry was higher.
In August, too, the value of industrial production lower at the monthly and at the annual level
The total value of industrial production was 1.1% lower than a month ago. It was lower in manufacturing and in mining and quarrying (both by 1.9%), while in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply it was higher (by 4.4%).
The value of industrial production decreased at the monthly level in consumer goods industries by 19.7% and in intermediate goods industries by 2.7%, while in capital goods industries it increased by 16.9%.
Compared to August last year, the value of industrial production was lower by 12.4%. It decreased in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (by 24.5%), in manufacturing (by 12.1%) and in mining and quarrying (by 4.7%).
Compared to the same period of last year, in the first eight months the total value of industrial production fell by 5.1%.
Turnover in industry at monthly level higher
Turnover in industry was higher at the monthly level by 1.7% and lower at the annual level by 10.4%. At the monthly level, it increased in both markets (domestic by 3.0%, non-domestic by 1.4%), while at the annual level, it decreased in both markets (domestic by 2.7%, non-domestic by 12.8%).
At the monthly level, turnover in industry went up in manufacturing (by 1.6%) and down in mining and quarrying (by 2.4%), while at the annual level turnover in industry decreased in manufacturing by 10.8% and increased in mining and quarrying by 25.3%.
In view of main industrial groupings, turnover in industry increased at the monthly level in capital goods industries (by 13.4%) and decreased in intermediate goods industries (by 0.7%) and in consumer goods industries (by 1.1%).
Compared to the first eight months of last year, in the same period of this year turnover in industry increased by 1.0%. In the non-domestic market it went up by 1.0% and in the domestic market by 0.9%. It grew in mining and quarrying as well as in manufacturing (by 4.9% and by 0.9%, respectively).

Compared to the previous month, the value of stocks in industrial production was 1.0% lower, but it was 9.6% higher than in August last year. At the monthly level, the value of stocks was lower in manufacturing (by 1.1%), while in mining and quarrying it was higher (by 15.4%). In the first eight months, the value of stocks was 16.8% higher than in the same period of last year.
