Confidence improved, unchanged only in services
The confidence indicators improved, except the services confidence indicator, which was the same as in the previous month.
Confidence in manufacturing slightly higher
The confidence indicator went up by 1 percentage point (p.p.) at the monthly level and by 5 p.p. at the annual level. Compared to the long-term average, it was 6 p.p. lower.
The expected production and stock of finished products indicators worsened (the former by 2 p.p. and the latter by 3 p.p.), while the overall order books indicator improved by 6 p.p.
The labour hoarding indicator was lower at the monthly and annual level by 3 p.p. and compared to the long-term average by 1 p.p.
Growth in confidence also in retail trade …
The confidence indicator rose by 12 p.p. at the monthly level and was 5 p.p. above the long-term average. Compared to the previous August, it was lower by 4 p.p.
All observed indicators improved at the monthly level, except the expected employment indicator.
The labour hoarding indicator was lower at the monthly and annual level by 1 p.p. and 2 p.p., respectively, and equal to the long-term average.
… and in construction
The confidence indicator increased by 4 p.p. at the monthly level. Compared to August last year it was 1 p.p. lower and compared to the long-term average 15 p.p. higher.
The monthly increase was influenced by both indicators: the overall order books and the employment expectations (by 4 p.p., each).
The labour hoarding indicator was the same at the monthly level, higher at the annual level (by 8 p.p.) and lower compared to the long-term average (by 5 p.p.).
In services stable
The value of the confidence indicator was the same as in July. Compared to August last year and the long-term average, it was higher by 4 p.p. and 7 p.p., respectively.
All observed indicators improved at the monthly level, except the business situation and expected sales price indicators.
The labour hoarding indicator was the same as in July, but lower at the annual level (by 3 p.p.) and compared to the long-term average (by 2 p.p.).
