Construction costs for new residential buildings lower than in the previous quarter

In the first quarter of 2024, construction costs for new residential buildings in Slovenia were lower than in the previous quarter, but higher than in the first quarter of last year.

Construction costs for new residential buildings went down at the quarterly level …

In the first quarter of this year, construction costs for new residential buildings were 1.1% lower than in the previous quarter. They were 3.7% higher than in the first quarter of 2023.

… as did labour costs …

After the 11.3% increase in the previous quarter, this time labour costs went down. They were 3.1% lower than in the fourth quarter of last year. Compared to the first quarter of last year, however, they increased by 11.8%.

… and construction material costs

Construction material costs decreased again, this time they were 0.3% lower than in the previous quarter. Compared to the first quarter of 2023, they went down by 3.2%.
