More confidence in retail trade and construction
In retail trade and construction confidence improved, in services it was at the same monthly level, while in manufacturing it deteriorated.
In construction higher
The value of the confidence indicator increased in all three comparisons: at the monthly level by 2 percentage points (p.p.), at the annual level by 1 p.p., and compared to the long-term average by 17 p.p.
The monthly increase was influenced by both confidence indicators: the employment expectations and the overall order books (the former was higher by 4 p.p. and the latter by 2 p.p.).
The labour hoarding indicator was the same at the monthly level as well at the annual level and compared to the long-term average lower by 9 p.p.
In manufacturing slightly lower monthly
The confidence indicator went down by 1 p.p. at the monthly level. Compared to the previous March, it was 2 p.p. higher and 7 p.p. lower than the long-term average.
The expected production indicator worsened by 2 p.p., while the overall orders books indicator and the stock of finished productions indicator remained unchanged.
The labour hoarding indicator was the same at the monthly level and as the long-term average and higher at the annual level by 1 p.p.
In services the same
The value of the confidence indicator was the same at the monthly and annual levels, and 8 p.p. above the long-term average.
The business situation (2 p.p.) and demand (3 p.p.) indicators deteriorated, but despite higher expected demand (by 2 p.p.), the confidence indicator remained the same as the previous month.
The labour hoarding indicator decreased by 1 p.p. at the monthly level as well as compared to the long-term average, but remained the same at the annual level.
In retail trade higher
The value of the confidence indicator increased in all three comparisons: at the monthly level by 4 p.p., at the annual level by 20 p.p., and compared to the long-term average by 13 p.p.
The indicator was most significantly influenced by the improvement in the sales indicator (by 19 p.p.). The expected sales indicator, which deteriorated by 5 p.p., had a negative effect, while the volume of stocks indicator had no impact.
The labour hoarding indicator increased by 1 p.p. at the monthly level, but decreased by 1 p.p. at the annual level as well as compared to the long-term average.
