Average earnings at registered natural persons lower at the monthly but higher at the annual level
Compared to earnings for December last year, average gross earnings for January 2025 were lower in nominal terms by 6.0% and in real terms by 5.6%. At the annual level, they were higher in nominal terms by 5.5% and in real terms by 3.4%.

Average gross earnings of persons in paid employment by registered natural persons for January of this year amounted to EUR 1,527.16. They were lower than for the previous month in nominal terms by 6.0% and in real terms by 5.6%. Average net earnings amounted to EUR 1,019.55. Compared to earnings for December 2024, they were lower in nominal terms by 7.0% and in real terms by 6.6%. The decrease in average earnings was mainly due to lower extra payments.
In comparison with January 2024, average gross and net earnings increased in nominal terms by 5.5% and in real terms by 3.4%.
Monthly decline in all sections of activity
On average, the highest gross earnings for January were paid in human health and social work activities (EUR 2,005.80) and the lowest in arts, entertainment and recreation (EUR 1,170.71).
Compared to last December, average gross earnings decreased in all sections of activity, while at the annual level all sections recorded growth, which was the highest in real estate activities and in education, in both by 11.7%.
