In January 2020, 4% more net electricity was generated than in January 2019
Compared to the previous month, electricity production in January 2020 decreased by 16%, the supply of energy commodities also decreased.
Decrease of total net electricity generation in January compared to December
In January 2020, total net electricity generation was 1238 GWh, compared to December 2019 decreased by 16%. Consumption was 1344 GWh, compared to December 2019 increased by 8%. Hydro power plants generation decreased by 38%, generation in the thermal power plants decreased by 9%. Generation at the nuclear power plant in January 2020, compared to December 2019 increased by 1%.
In line with the lower production in thermal power plants, fuel consumption in January 2020 also decreased by 11%.
In January 2020, 778 GWh of electricity was imported and 636 GWh was exported. Import increased by 24% compared to the previous month, while export decreased by 22%.
Decrease of energy supply in January 2020
In January 2020 supply of energy commodities in general went down with exception of Coke Oven Coke supply rise with 25%, Natural Gas supply rise with 18% and Heating and Other Gasoil supply rise with 6%. Compared with previous month we further noticed supply fell as 37% with Other Petroleum Products 32% with LPG, 22% with Lignite and Brown Coal, 16% with Kerosene Jet Fuel and 13% with Hard Coal.
