Exports of roundwood in 2020 down, imports up over 2019
In 2020 Slovenia exported 1.56 million cubic meters of roundwood (about 19% less than in 2019), and imported 0.86 million cubic meters of roundwood (about 39% more than in 2019).
The exports of roundwood in 2020 lower than in 2019
According to external trade data, 1.56 million cubic meters of roundwood were exported in 2020 or about 19% less than in 2019. Compared to the previous year, the exports of all individual categories of roundwood were lower than a year ago, except the exports of wood fuel, which were about 2% higher. The exports of industrial roundwood coniferous were lower by almost 30% and of industrial roundwood non-coniferous by about 2%.
The imports of roundwood in 2020 higher than in 2019
About 855,000 cubic meters of roundwood were imported in 2020 or about 39% more than in 2019. Compared to the previous year, the imports of industrial roundwood increased by about 57%, of which the imports of coniferous industrial roundwood were higher by about 74%, and of non-coniferous industrial roundwood by almost 7%. Wood fuel imports were lower than a year ago (by about 12%).
