Goods traffic again highest at Ravbarkomanda

The most significant growth in passenger traffic was in the 3rd quarter of 2024 on the section with the Zamarkova counter (7% more), and in goods traffic on the section with the Čatež counter (10% more). On the Feast of the Assumption, the Drenov Grič counter detected the most passenger vehicles.

The section with the Drenov Grič counter the busiest with passenger traffic between July and September

Among the selected counters, the motorway section with the Drenov Grič counter was the busiest with passenger traffic in the third quarter of 2024. It counted around 6.2 million passenger vehicles, or 1% more than in the same period the year before. The section with the Lendava counter was the least busy, with only 930,000 passenger vehicles counted, 3% fewer than in the same period the year before. This was also the section with the largest year-on-year decline in passenger traffic, while the largest growth (by 7%) was recorded on the section with the Zamarkova counter.

On all sections with counters, in the observed quarter the daily average for cars and motorcycles was the highest in August. For buses, it was the highest in September on most sections with counters, except for the section with the Lendava counter, where it was the highest in August, and the Gruškovje counter, where it was the highest in July.

The only holiday in this quarter was the feast of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, which is a day off in Slovenia, Italy, Austria and Croatia. Of all the observed counters, the most passenger vehicles, almost 70,000, were counted on this day by the Drenov Grič counter. Still, this was 1% fewer than on the same day the year before. The largest growth in passenger traffic was recorded on the section with the Zamarkova counter, a third more or 11,300 passenger vehicles. The largest decrease was recorded on the section with the Ravbarkomanda counter, where there were 59,000 passenger vehicles, which was 7% fewer.



Goods traffic again highest at Ravbarkomanda

The highest goods traffic was again recorded by the Ravbarkomanda counter, which counted 1.8 million goods vehicles. Compared to the same period the year before, traffic increased by 2%. The least busy section was Zamarkova, where 345,000 goods vehicles were counted, or 5% fewer.   In the third quarter of last year, compared to the same period the year before, goods vehicle traffic increased the most (by 10%) on the section with the Čatež counter, and decreased the most (by 10%) on the section with the Lendava counter.

On the feast of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, the busiest section was the one with the Ravbarkomanda counter, which counted 11,300 goods vehicles or 5% more than on the same feast the year before. The least busy section was the one with the Zamarkova counter, which counted 1,800 goods vehicles, but recorded the largest growth in goods traffic. Traffic at this location increased by two-thirds compared to the same day the year before/to 15 August 2023. On this holiday, there was no decline in goods traffic compared to 2023, as most counters showed growth, only on the section with the Zagorica counter did traffic remain at the same level.
