The value of purchased roundwood down year-on-year but up by a fifth monthly

In January, the value of roundwood purchased from private owners was 4.3% lower year-on-year and a fifth higher at the monthly level.

Lower year-on-year …

Compared to last January, the value of roundwood purchased from private owners decreased by 4.3%. Significantly lower were the values of wood fuel and other industrial pulpwood – both by almost two-thirds. The value of pulpwood also declined. On the other hand, the value of sawlogs and veneer logs increased. The 7.5% increase was influenced by the rise in the value of purchased coniferous wood, while the value of non-coniferous wood was lower.

… and higher at the monthly level

Compared to December, the total value of roundwood purchased from private owners was higher by a fifth. The increase was due to a higher value of purchased sawlogs and veneer logs. The purchase value of other assortments was lower.
