Economic sentiment worsened again

Sentiment indicator deteriorated at the monthly level as well as at the annual level.

Down at the monthly level …

The value of the sentiment indicator (at −1.1 percentage point – p.p.) decreased by 1.7 p.p. compared to the previous month (at 0.6 p.p.).

The monthly decline was influenced by four confidence indicators – among consumers (by 1.1 p.p.), in services (by 0.5 p.p.), in construction and in manufacturing (by 0.1 p.p. each), while the indicator in retail trade had a positive impact (by 0.1 p.p.).

… and at the annual level

At the annual level, the economic sentiment indicator was lower by 7.2 p.p.

This decrease was influenced by lower values of three confidence indicators – in manufacturing (by 4.6 p.p.), among consumers (by 4.3 p.p.) and construction (by 0.1 p.p.), while the contribution of the confidence indicators in services and retail trade was positive, namely by 1.2 p.p. and 0.6 p.p., respectively.
