Average earnings lower than earnings for April
Compared to earnings for April, average gross earnings for May were lower, in nominal terms by 0.6% and in real terms by 2.5%. They were the highest in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply.
Earnings lower in both nominal and real terms
Average gross earnings for May 2022 amounted to EUR 1,989.53. Compared to earnings for the previous month, they were lower in nominal terms by 0.6% and in real terms by 2.5%. Average net earnings amounted to EUR 1,297.39. Compared to earnings for the previous month, they were lower in nominal terms by 0.5% and in real terms by 2.5%.
Earnings lower in the private sector, in the public sector about the same as earnings for April
Compared to earnings for April, average gross earnings were lower in the private sector (by 0.9%), while in the public sector they were about the same. In the institutional sector general government, which is a part of the public sector, they were lower by 1.4%.
The highest in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply
Compared to earnings for April, average gross earnings increased the most in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (by 10.4%; mainly due to higher extra payments). They amounted to EUR 3,183.63 and were the highest among activities. On the other hand, average gross earnings decreased the most in financial and insurance activities (by 8.2%; mainly due to lower extra payments).
