Average earnings slightly lower than earnings for June
Average earnings for July amounted to EUR 2,202.08 gross and EUR 1,428.46 net. Compared to earnings for June, they were lower in nominal terms by 0.2% and in real terms by 0.4%.

Average earnings for July 2023 amounted to EUR 2,202.08 gross and EUR 1,428.46 net. Compared to earnings for the previous month, both gross and net earnings were slightly lower (in nominal terms by 0.2% and in real terms by 0.4%).
Compared to earnings for July of the previous year, they were higher in nominal (gross earnings by 10.0% and net earnings by 9.5%) and in real terms (gross earnings by 3.7% and net earnings by 3.2%).
Earnings slightly lower only in the private sector
Compared to earnings for June, average gross earnings increased in the public sector by 0.5% (in the institutional sector general government they went up by 1.1%) and decreased in the private sector by 0.5%.
The highest in financial and insurance activities
Average gross earnings were the highest in financial and insurance activities (EUR 3,186.85) and the lowest in administrative and support service activities (EUR 1,577.92).
Compared to earnings for June, average gross earnings increased the most in human health and social work activities (by 4.8%) and decreased the most in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (by 13.6%; mostly due to lower extra payments).
