Index of service and trade production remained stable

In January, production at the monthly level increased in trade and decreased in services. It went down the most in real estate activities.

At the monthly level, growth only in professional, scientific and technical activities

Total production remained at the previous month’s level. In trade, it increased by 2.2%, while in service activities it decreased by 2.5%.

Among service activities, production increased only in professional, scientific and technical activities (by 2.8%). It decreased the most in real estate activities (by 8.0%), followed by accommodation and food service activities (by 3.0%), administrative and support service activities (by 1.7%), transportation and storage (by 1.2%) and information and communication (by 0.3%).

The biggest drop year-on-year also in real estate activities

Compared to last January, service and trade production grew by 0.6%. In trade it went up by 4.0%, while in service activities it fell by 1.6%.

It declined the most in real estate activities (by 16.3%), followed by administrative and support service activities (by 5.5%) and information and communication (by 5.1%). On the other hand, an increase was recorded in transportation and storage (by 3.1%), professional, scientific and technical activities (by 0.8%) and accommodation and food service activities (by 0.2%).

During the transition period after SKD 2025 (NACE Rev. 2.1) entering into force, statistical data will still be collected and published according to SKD 2008 (NACE Rev. 2). The transition periods will vary depending on the individual surveys.
