Average earnings for May 2018 about the same as average earnings for the previous month
Average earnings for May 2018 amounted to EUR 1,663.23 gross and EUR 1,077.77 net; compared to average earnings for April 2018 they were lower in nominal terms by 0.1% and in real terms by 1.3%. Compared to average earnings for May 2017 they were higher: gross earnings in nominal terms by 3.1% (in real terms by 1.1%) and net earnings in nominal terms by 2.6% (in real terms by 0.6%).

Compared to earnings for April 2018 and to earnings for May 2017, average net earnings for May 2018 increased the most in mining and quarrying (by 3.2% and by 9.2%, respectively). On average, persons employed in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply had the highest net earnings (EUR 1,532.28).

Compared to earnings for April 2018, average net earnings for May 2018 in some regions increased while in the others decreased; they increased the most in the Posavska statistical region (by 2.6%) and decreased the most in the Obalno-kraška statistical region (by 1.3%). Compared to earnings for May 2017 they were higher in all statistical regions; the highest increase was recorded in the Posavska statistical region (by 5.0%).
