The sentiment indicator continues to grow
In May 2021, the sentiment indicator improved again compared to the previous month, this time by 6.2 percentage points. This was the sixth consecutive monthly increase of this indicator.
The sentiment indicator up for the sixth time in a row
In May, 2021, the value of the sentiment indicator (5.6 percentage points) was 6.2 percentage points (p.p.) higher than in April 2021 (−0.6 p.p.) and 6.8 p.p. above the long-term average.
All five components of the sentiment indicator had a positive influence at the monthly level: the confidence indicator in services by 2.9 p.p., in manufacturing by 1.3 p.p., among consumers also by 1.3 p.p., in retail trade by 0.6 p.p., and in construction by 0.2 p.p.
The sentiment indicator higher at the annual level
In May 2021, the value of the sentiment indicator increased by 36.8 p.p. over May 2020.
The rise of the sentiment indicator was mostly influenced by the confidence indicators in manufacturing (by 15.3 p.p.) and in services (by 13.7 p.p.). Confidence indicators among consumers (by 3.4 p.p), in construction (by 2.4 p.p.) and in retail trade (by 1.9 p.p.) also had a positive effect.
