Producer prices of agricultural products higher year-on-year
At the annual level, producer prices of agricultural products increased on average by 3.9%, while the value of purchased agricultural products went up by 7.8%.
Producer prices of animals and animal products on average higher than last January
Compared to a year ago, producer prices of agricultural products increased on average by 3.9%.
The prices of animals and animal products increased by 8.3%. The prices of animals for slaughter were higher by 8.7%. Cattle prices went up the most. Animal products were 7.8% more expensive due to the higher milk price.
The prices of crop products were lower by 7.9%. The greatest decrease was recorded in potato prices (by 16.6%). Lower were also the prices of vegetables, fruit and wine.
Value of purchased vegetables substantially higher year-on-year
Compared to January of last year, the value of purchased agricultural products was higher by 7.8%.
The value of purchase in the group arable farming increased by 22.5%, mostly due to the much higher value of purchased vegetables. The value of purchased cereals decreased by 27.1%, since a smaller quantity of products was purchased than a year ago.
In the group livestock breeding, the value of purchase increased by 8.2%. The increase was due to the higher values of purchased livestock and milk, by 13.8% each. On the other hand, the value of purchased poultry and eggs was lower.
The value of purchase in the group fruit and wine growing was 6.1% lower. The value of purchased fruit was higher by 10.2% and the value of purchased alcoholic beverages by 5.0%.
