Agricultural input prices up in the first month
In January 2025, agricultural input prices went up. At the monthly level, the prices in the group of seeds of crops increased the most and year-on-year the prices in the group of energy and lubricants.
Price increase at the monthly level …
Agricultural inputs were on average 1.5% more expensive than in the previous month. The prices of goods and services currently consumed in agriculture (input 1) went up by 1.6% and the prices of goods and services contributing to agricultural investment (input 2) by 1.3%.
In the first group (input 1), the highest price increases were recorded at seeds of crops (by 6.1%), at fertilizers (by 5.5%) and at other goods and services (by 2.1%).
In the second group (input 2), the prices of materials increased by 1.4% and the prices of buildings by 1.0%.
… as well as year-on-year
Compared to the previous year, agricultural inputs were 2.6% more expensive. The prices of goods and services currently consumed in agriculture went up by 2.8% and the prices of goods and services contributing to agricultural investment by 2.3%.
The top three price increases were recorded at energy and lubricants (by 8.9%), at seeds of crops (by 6.1%) and at fertilizers (by 3.8%).
