Industrial products prices up

In February, producer prices increased by 0.4% at the monthly level. For the first time since November 2023, they also increased year-on-year, namely by 0.5%.

At the monthly level, prices increased the most in manufacture of basic pharmaceutical products and preparations … 

Compared to January, the prices of industrial products increased by 0.4%. The prices of products for sale on the domestic market went down by 0.5% and on non-domestic markets up by 1.2%. Of the latter, the prices of products for sale on euro area markets increased by 0.9% and on non-euro area markets by 2.1%.

Consumer goods prices rose by 1.8% and intermediate goods prices by 0.6%. On the other hand, energy prices fell by 7.0% and capital goods prices by 0.1%. 

Prices increased the most in manufacture of basic pharmaceutical products and preparations (by 5.2%), followed by water collection, treatment and supply (by 4.3%), printing and reproduction of recorded media (by 3.2%) and manufacture of basic metals (by 2.2%). On the other hand, they decreased the most in electricity (by 9.6%), followed by manufacture of coke and petroleum products (by 4.6%), manufacture of other transport equipment (by 1.8%), and manufacture of paper and paper products (by 1.4%).

… and at the annual level, in manufacture of leather and leather products

Compared to last February, producer prices increased by 0.5%. The prices of products for sale on the domestic market went up by 0.2% and on non-domestic markets by 0.9%. Of those, the prices of products for sale on euro area markets increased by 0.5% and on non-euro area markets by 1.8%.

The prices of consumer goods increased by 2.9%, while those of energy decreased by 2.6%, of capital goods by 0.5% and of intermediate goods by 0.3%.

Prices increased the most in manufacture of leather and leather products (by 8.7%), followed by manufacture of beverages (by 6.2%), water collection, treatment and supply (by 5.8%), and printing and reproduction of recorded media (by 5.0%). On the other hand, they decreased the most in manufacture of computer and optical products (by 5.4%), followed by electricity (by 4.8%), and manufacture of rubber and plastic products (by 1.6%).
